When i convert it to flybarless i plan to use the Gaui 450 head as i see its widely used with V Bar V4. My question is can i use the T Rex 450 Pro preset and carry on setting up from there or would i need to do a complete set up from scratch? I know the swashplate on the Beam is almost identical to the Align one and the servos are installed in an exact same way? Thanks in advance... Either the Excel-Sheet or the PHP Script (online calculation) ask for some measurements, those you type into the tool and voilà ... you see if your geometry is well (and the corresponding values you can enter into VBar software) or, if the results are off, you might have to re-adjust. Reply Quote Big Fil Re: Mini V Bar on a Beam E4 September 10, 2009 01:01AM Registered: 2 years ago Posts: 35 One thing to consider on the Beam is that the bottom tray does not sit perpendicular to the mainshaft in the elevator axis. There is a slight rake forward which you can clearly see if you look at the bottom of the motor in comparison to the bottom plate. You'll need to fashion a plate that corrects the angle. Maybe one of the resident gurus can explain better how this would affect flight if not corrected? I'm assuming you'd get some strange behavior when rolling. Edited 1 time(s). Big Fil Thats a good point about the main mast/drivetrain being angled forward.I think it will be easy to just raise the back end of the bottom plate with some spacers under the rear screws to bring it to the same angle. For all concerned i will post some pictures of the heli and once its done,the setup file as it may be of use to others. Appreciate the information and support.. I understand if its OK then i will have to modify the 450 Pro preset to ensure that everything works in the correct orientation as the Preset info file shows the Mini V Bar mounted upright on top of the boom clamp Edited 2 time(s). So far i have just got all the electronic side of things working correctly.Also before i fly i will probably turn the agility down.. Also i have just noticed that i still have the Torque precomp set to 100% for when i tested the tail,i will reset it to 31 default before i fly.. Another thing i have noticed just watching one of the Mikado videos regarding Torque compensation is the need to set zero pitch on Tx with pitch guage to confirm and then hit the set button in the software.I have not done this step on my Logo 400 or 500? Even so i did 4 flights with it mainly sports flying but a bit of 3d and i am very impressed,the model seems to track better than expected even without perfect mechanical setup and trimflight. Also it feels pretty comfortable,so its better than expected for a first day with it. I will update as i progress with it and post another setup file once i have got perfect mechanical setup and good trim. Very pleased with the Mini V Bar,its a great product. I must say i am very impressed with how well the Mini V bar works on a 450 size model. Out of interest i tried the 14t pinion thats used on the standard setup and the thing was mental too powerful in my opinion and certainly for my flying style so i have gone back to the 13t..
