The car has no faults and is an excellent runner, Being used daily by myself, husband to take the kids to school, do the shopping, etc. etc. Been an excellent little car. She has a full service history, Mileage just turned 51,000 , Passed an Mot needing only a track rod end, and 1 bush. Car has just under 13 months MOT and taxed until January NEXT year. Bodywork is in very good condition and looks great with the 18 inch John Cooper Work alloys, Front tyres have 5-6mm of tread. It has Avon ZZ3 all round (235/35/18). Sadly alloys are in need of cosmetic attention. A full refurb would be excellent and would cost around 200 pounds. your chances of winning, then this is the car for you! This class 1 mini is about as high spec as you can get! All the racing improvements that you can get for a class1 mini this has. As you can see by from the list below this mini has had much time and effort spent on it and has won the silver wear to prove it. Since these pictures we have fitted two new tyres and changed the One badge to a Cooper badge . Engine and Running Gear The engine is silky smooth and has no known faults. It pulls throughout the rev range as it should. The brakes pull up evenly on all four wheels without any adverse effect on the steering. The gearbox has no crunches and selects the gears in a positive manner. The clutch is nice and light, and is showing no sign of any wear at all. There are no leaks and everything works as it should. Exterior A stunning Blue.. as you can see from the pictures. I think it`s in super condition, with the usual minor imperfections that you would expect from a vehicle of this age. I have put a number of high resolution photographs on the advert, so have a good look. Interior Stunning.. we are non smokers and so it smells nice, There are no horrible stains or marks, it really is as good as new. It also has a natty little CD player fitted. I am a MINI enthusiast and as such I`ve looked after this car very well, washing the car every weekend and waxing it almost as often. Serviced regardless of cost including a recent brand new radiator and brand new power steering pump. The car has never been thrashed or trashed but instead lovingly looked after and put on show at many MINI events/shows. The car came from MINI with a high specification (see below) and I`ve also added tasteful visual modifications. A change in circumstances (going from a 2 MINI family to 1, plus potentially needing a diesel to do more miles in) means I have decided to sell the car. Car has 6 months tax and 12 months MOT ! There is a lot of history around this car, mainly the fact that its actually a pre-mass production car. What I mean by this is that this car was on the road before the general public could own one, it was a test model for BMW/MINI to test the features of the cabrio for the first time on a full production car. There was a small batch of these made, all with lots of extras (to enable testing) and all with very early build dates - the build date being April 2004 yet the first convertibles didn`t gain ownership until June/July 2004. At the MINI United festival in 2009 (when my car was on the Notts MINI Club stand), an employee of BMW/MINI (shown in the photo below) explained all this to me - he was actually the employee who was given this car for 4 months to test all the features and report back ! In that short time he completed 14,000 trouble free miles before giving the car back - it was then auctioned and the previous owner to myself bought it ! A build date of April 2004 also indicate that this was one of the very first MINIs (hatchback or cabrio) that was from the facelift range, which, among other things included the much more reliable gearbox and the new airbag layout including moving the passenger airbag to the top of the glovebox. Again, as with the cabrio launch, face lift hatchbacks were not available until the summer of 2004. It was the uniqueness of this MINI plus a range of tasteful modifications to the car that caught the eyes of Modern MINI magazine and following on from a late photo shoot in 2009, the car was featured over 6 pages in the Jan-Feb 2010 issue (mail me for details if you want to see this in full) The first page of the article is shown below. A copy of the magazine will be given to the buyer. Now onto the car itself, main extras that come with the car that have been on the car from factory fit are: Full Sat Nav System, Harman Kardon speakers, heated half leather seats, visibility pack (heated front screen as well as rear), air-con (which is unusual for a cabrio), parking sensors, automatic wipers, xenon headlights etc. I have listed the full list from MINI further down the email with their part/option numbers. When I collected the car, despite all the extra toys it looked fairly basic with 15" wheels and standard MINI one bumpers and external trim, so I went about adding some extras ! Extras that I`ve put on are the Genuine MINI GP Side skirts (from the GP special edition, carbon fibre A panels, JCW Handbrake and gear gaiters, chill red gear knob and JCW Carbon hand brake, custom made alcantara down tubes to match the JCW gaiters (by plush automotive), iPod adapter, JCW exhaust tip, JCW Aero front bumper, Union Jack carbon style mirror covers. Then there are the GP replica alloys which still have excellent tyre tred but the front diamond cut face could probably do with a refurb. I have also upgraded the head unit from a 2006 model (the same GP the side skirts came from!) which has enabled the traffic master system on the sat nav to warn of traffic jams/road closures etc. I have also fitted "halo" style front sidelights complete with silvertec indicators (so the indicators look silver and not orange but are perfect orange when in use). Because of the cars unusual history, it never had an official service history book, however I do have some service history and the one service its needed during my ownership has been done at Blue Bell MINI in Crewe and I have the supporting documentation for this. The car has also had a replacement clutch done by New MINI Spares UK in 2009 and I have just under a year warranty remaining on this. The car passed its MOT in August and just before this I had the power steering pump replaced with a brand new one. Earlier this year I had the radiator replaced with a brand new one. If you look at various articles on line common faults with MINis are power steering, radiators and gearboxes on the older MINIs. So 2 out of 3 potiential issues have been sorted and as this MINI has the newer gearbox that came out mid-2004 you won`t have any issues with that etiher. The car is on approx 69,000 miles and may inscrease by 100-200 within the next 2 weeks. The condition of the car is very good for a 6 year old car with the miles it has, the bonnet has a few stone chips/small marks etc. If your wanting this car to be show perfect then the alloys could also do with a refurb. making this a very rare mini. When it was launched in 1975 it caused quite a stir as limited edition cars were unheard of then. It pioneered features that are now common place in later minis. These are: Chrome eyeball airvents Gold Coachlines Twin Chrome Door Mirrors Orange Striped Brushed Nylon Seat Trim from the MGB `Safari` Carpets This Mini has been fully restored over the past 9 months and has been done to a high standard. The mini is completely rust free which can be seen from the photos.
